Under the patronage of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Asimi Rector of SAU and in cooperation with the National Commission for Assessment and Academic Accreditation “NCAAA”, the project of Developmental Assessment was inaugurated on 21/4/2012. The ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Saad Zahrani Assistant Secretary-General for Development and Quality in NCAAA, Vices-Rector, Deans and a number of the university members.

The ceremony began with Verses from the Holly Quran, followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Saleh Al Kahtani Vice-Rector of Educational and Academic Affairs- General supervisor of the project-. Dr. Al Kahtani clarified in his speech that SAU aims from this project to establish bylaw meets standards of NCAAA and to enhance the efficiency of the university’s members. At the end of his speech, Dr. Al Kahtani said that this project would improve the revises delivered by the university to students.

Further, Dr. Zahrani delivered a speech expressing his delight by launching this project and he praised the university’s efforts that would lead to the universities prosper. At the end of his speech, Dr. Zahrani thanked all the university’s meebers for their efforts.

Furthermore, Rector delivered a welcoming speech and he said that the university would always seek a distinguished scientific institution. Rector added, the university is keen to apply the quality assurance process in its colleges, units and programs and this project will include Al Aflaj Headquarter along with the main Headquarter.

Moreover, Dr. Zahrani delivered a presentation about the concept of bylaw, stages of assessment and accreditation and goals of quality assurance and academic accreditation. Then, Dr. Zahrani answered the audience inquiries.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Al Kahtani thanked Dr. Zahrani and Dr. Buthaina Murshed from NCAAA for their sincere efforts.
