SAU began since its establishment in 1430H to form the bases of internal quality assurance system according to NCAAA “National Commission for Assessment and Academic Accreditation” system in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the university sought during the first stage of the project to seed quality concept in the university’s community. During this stage, the university focused its efforts to create quality units in all the university’s colleges and departments. It also outfitted such units with experienced human resources.
By the end of second stage that specified for preliminary, institutional and programmatic self- assessment, the need of enhancing the power aspects has emerged. Before stepping into third stage that is depend on developmental assessment, SAU had to address deficiencies that concluded in the self-assessment report.
